How Trust Deposit Works

NOTE: Smart Communications only provides Trust Deposit services in certain correctional facilities where requested by the facility, and only by way of its fully licensed contractual partners. Please check the specific correctional facility website for details.

SmartInmate™ allows you to make deposits for incarcerated individuals at some correctional institutions. Trust deposits are sent to the incarcerated individual's trust account operated by the local correctional institution. Trust deposits are transferred daily and typically appear in the destination account the following day. To make trust deposits you MUST open a SmartInmate™ account. This process is quick and easy, just follow these simple steps...

1. Sign Up

Creating an account is fast, simple, and completely free. We will ask you to choose a username and password to identify your account along with some basic contact information. We will send you an email or text message to verify and activate your account. There is no cost to create an account and search for incarcerated individuals to connect with.

2. Make Connections

Once you have established an account, you may search for incarcerated individuals to connect with. Once you have located an individual that you would like to connect with, you can add them to your account as a contact.
